1627967898454200320 @BurnetInstitute @liammannix The imp point is not what individuals do, it's the need for governments to take breathing clean air out of the realm of personal responsibility & act to ensure it is clean for everyone. Just as clean water gives us less diarrhea, so clean air will give less respiratory disease. 65
1627765949746249729 @BurnetInstitute @Globalbiosec @CrabbBrendan @AboutTheHouse Excellent work Brendan and Raina. It was a year ago when i caught #COVID . Since then I have been hospitalised twice for stents and have had many investigations and seen many specialists. Sadly no one yet has any answers. 11

Can barely manage to shower some days. We need help asap. I'm lucky to very slowly getting better but may be another 6-8mnths. We can't keep doing this. 6
1626715312073871361 I reckon if he bothered to look at past 5yrs of pubs by authors with @BurnetInstitute affiliations, he'd see this Institute can more than walk, juggle & chew gum at the same time. But I suspect that amount of consideration b4 speaking is too ambitious. https://t.co/mYaHH4hQT6 https://t.co/ba1eJNFEwt 5

1627526464202743810 @BurnetInstitute Prevent infection? Very achievable? Seriously? Not a country on the planet managed to achieve that despite some of the harshest restrictions. What exactly do you want to do to achieve that?? Do you ever state what restrictions you are calling for? 72

1627551873812303872 @CatherineOrr73 @BurnetInstitute No restrictions, just precautions. The first precaution is clean indoor air, provided by improved ventilation where possible, and the provision of HEPA filters where not. Next we need to provide and train people in the use of P2/N95 respirators for hard to ventilate situations. 43
1627512276797521920 @BurnetInstitute @CrabbBrendan @AboutTheHouse Definitely - I've seen several GPs for help, and was told the heart issues I'm now experiencing are a co-incidence or was otherwise dismissed. I hope the inquiry will help GPs understand this is a real condition we are experiencing. 42

1627515917348536322 @BurnetInstitute @CrabbBrendan @AboutTheHouse Please provide evidence that 500,000 Australians have long COVID. I'll wait. And why is it that your estimate of the prevalence of long COVID keeps on dropping? Thought you were claiming that it was 20% or more initially. 39
